Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting

Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting

This lick-your-fingers frosting is your basic American buttercream with a twist.  It’s like the best part of a cinnamon roll condensed into frosting form.  Spread it on Pumpkin Bread or Apple Cake.  Try it on top of Fudgy Chocolate Brownies or sandwiched between Oatmeal Raisin Date Cookies.

  • 1/2 cup (1 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups confectioners sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • generous pinch of kosher salt

PRINT-FRIENDLY RECIPE

Cream the butter with beater or in a standing mixer with a paddle attachment.

Add 2 cups confectioners sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, vanilla, cinnamon and a generous pinch of kosher salt.

Mix until thoroughly combined.  Add the remaining cup of confectioner’s sugar.  Mix it all together until it lightens a little and is spreading consistency.  You can add a little more milk if you need to.
